strange little girl

Proudly Filipina, twentysomething, lawyer-to-be, aspiring music video director and indie film producer, frustrated songwriter, wannabe rockstar, prose and poetry writer, occassional fangirl: favorite word: wanderlust, can’t live without music, can kick yer ass, loves changing hair colors (as of this writing, hair is reddish brown with orange highlights) thinks women friends are great investments esp in latter years, loves her parents to bits and pieces, thinks God is the sweetest friend one can ever have. Loves life, like, abso-freakin-lutely.

Random Facts:

• I love roller coasters and other thrill rides. I once rode the Space Shuttle at Enchanted Kingdom 7x during a visit. I thought i was gonna get banned.

• I love to eat. And i eat anything. I am a streetfood junkie (isaw, balut, chicharong bulaklak, corn kernels with cheese and butter, dirty ice cream, taho, calamares, wasjed down with buko or melon juice. Yummee!) All time favorite Filipino dishes – pinakbet cooked Ilocano style, shrimp sinigang and paksiw na bangus!

• I love Korean and Chinese food.

• I love to move. I jog, skip rope, do push-ups, lift weights if i’m not busy beating the crap out of a punching bag. Loves swimming too!

• I walk fast.

• I open doors, pull up chairs, give up seats on trains and buses to the elderly or pregnant women or offer to carry stuff … but is quite uncomfortable when others do it for me.

• I love pets. I’d love to take care of a Boston Terrier, or a baby tiger. Or a tarsier!

• I love creatures with big eyes.

• All my childhood crushes died. Like River Phoenix and Kurt Cobain.

• I have been a fan of Ellen Degeneres since i was 14. i watched her sitcom Ellen on Channel 27 regularly. While people raved about Friends (hey, i love the show too, especially Phoebe) i was glued to Ellen. She is just so funny.

• I’m not a huge fan of popularity. Somehow for me something loses its magic when a lot of people knows about it.

• I love wearing jeans or shirts, sneakers or flipflops. And always, always with a cuff and my purple cocktail ring.

• I don’t drink coffee, but i’m often at Starbucks or Figaro because friends love hanging out there. I sometimes am embarrassed about that fact, makes me feel phony.

• I have a huge girl crush on Famke Janssen. She is just so cool!

• I have this warped delusion that once either Matt Damon or Hugh Jackman meets me, they will immediately call their wives and ask for a divorce. ;-D

• I am fascinated by Philippine politics, but hates it.

• I sometimes cannot stand watching showbiz talk shows because witnessing a mentally marginalized personality talk about issues about him/her just makes me squirm.

• I am into preschool tv shows – bananas in pyjamas, dora the explorer and backyardigans! I know i am such a retard.

• I love old japanese tv series – from shaider to mojacko to doraemon.

• I cannot sew, stitch, crochet – all my school projects involving those were made by either my mom or my aunts! Meanwhile, i can fix chairs, lights, computers and can do manaul bookbinding, make graters and grills, and do floor plans and landscapes ;p

• i never liked dolls. For some reasons, the toys that i was introduced to were a remote controlled airplane, miniature trucks, trains and laser guns. The closest toy to a doll that i had was a little monkey drummer and an orange beagle that barks and walks when you push a button. I was only exposed to dolls when my sister was born. And they’re the most boring thing ever! Zzzz.

• I am a frustrated Little Miss Philippines;p

• i love martial arts, and love my bruises after each sparring match. They’re like my badge of glory.

• People think i’m a snob. Truth is, i just have poor eyesight.
